www.hardknock.tv Nick Huff sits down with the creator of The Boondocks, Aaron McGruder, to talk about BET, Presidential Elections, Obama Hilary Clinton, Moving to Canada, Lupe Fiasco and Tribe Called Quest. Plus short clips from the Banned Boondocks Episode from season 2.
this man is too sexy, god damn! do not cancel show after then 3rd season please!
No he’s not ^_^
Agreed, look at that smile, <3
love the 50 cent beat!!!!!!!
bet was bought by viocom
@LAYBACK30 I agree with you on some points, but i think that if he were to start making more positive ideas about his views then many would most likely stray away from the show. Not saying it should be something we should be proud of, i.e. having negative messages, but infusing this set up with his own beliefs keeps people watching, as well as thinking about some of the things he feels.
@Iwazaru674 thank you some1 who understands I said this in school n people got defensive as shyt
So this is the great mastermind behind the most elaborate satire of mainstream American society. Interesting.
man I don’t like it when people in the entertainment business talk about politics and current events
@PassTheKoolAide He clearly didn’t want to. The Boondocks knocked on some serious issues though. It’s not surprising that his interviewer figured he would be more insightful.
I think Aaron had an idea of what he wanted to say but couldn’t put it into words on the spot under the pressure of being on telivision.
He’s just a normal guy, and he reminds me of Dave Chapelle so much it’s embarresing. So simple, humble and normal.
@LAYBACK30 me neither. He’s really negative, obama gets elected and he does a whole negative episode about it. Absolutely no positivity was represented in episode 1 about obamas election.
This guy seems really lost and negative. If anyone saw season 3 ep 1 you saw mcgruder completely satirize obama’s election. He totally shitted on obama and showed NOTHING postive about him being elected. I understand that people have pos, and negs about obama. But he voted for him, and that episode completely misrepresented afro americans and perpetuated negative stereotypes. I was at the election, i witnessed it and i saw positivity. I think he hates himself..
@Baxterstockman0332 He did it to show the stupidity of Obamamania! Everyone was so concerned with him being the first black president they never sat down and thought otherwise. That’s dangerous. Malcolm X once said that its dangerous to put your faith in 1 man, as he spoke on his experiences with Elijah Muhammad.
@LAYBACK30 He uses those stereotypes to show the stupidity of certain aspects of black culture.
@Baxterstockman0332 I agree, this kat is like a sell out to me. Its like he hates on everything black people stand behind. The guy hates BET, Obama, he focus only on negtive shit about black people. its going to take more than a stupid azz cartoon to make me turn my back on black functions.
@Baxterstockman0332 So what the hell did he want all blacks to do, vote for Mcain? I mean he needs to look at both sides. You think whites didnt vote for Mcain becuz he was white? Race had a lot to do with this election, blacks voted for Obama becuz he was black and Whites voted for Mcain becuz he was white. Lots of people did not want a black president.
@blaklagoon1 He voted for him man. I hear you. But It doesn’t make sense to completely shit on his whole movement and not show anything postitive or beneficial because of his presidency. Its confusing. He just wants attention. He wants to go against the grain. We all didn’t think he was god. Mcgruder should learn how to fairly represent the people hes trying to speak to, cause this is ignorant.

@LAYBACK30 No he wanted to just show the whole obamamania for what it was: Craziness founded upon a man thought of as a god.
This guy is a total D Bag!
in the words of his character
“NIGGA KNOW MORE THEN HE LEADING ON!”
seriously his show got alot of hidden meaning
in it
I never really understood how BET was negatively harming black people. Can someone give an honest explanation to that?
the more i listen to this guy the more i fall in love 🙂
he’s smart i like him ~
Not everybody has to like BET and/or Obama regardless of their race…why does he have to be on anyone’s SIDE? And common sense will show you that the stereotypes displayed in this show are not to be taken literally…he is clearly sarcastic (as if you couldn’t tell here). The stuff on BET is not….BET is far more coonish than Boondocks if you get the message behind it.
So how’s that “Obama’s never gonna do anything on TV to make me cringe or wince” thing working out for you…
