FYI- This is a Heath Ledger “inspired” performance, not a direct impression. DON’T FORGET TO SIGN OUR PETITION TO WARNER BROS! www.petitionspot.com Following the events of “The Dark Knight”, the Joker is sentenced to Arkham Asylum where he is placed into the hands of Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a slightly wet behind the ears psychiatrist and current replacement for Dr. Jonathan Crane (The Scarecrow). Spanning over the course of five individual therapy sessions, the Joker slowly peels off Harleen’s authoritative mask while molding her into an image he sees more fit- Harley Quinn.
@blinky500 -licks lips- you are welcome ;]
Had to restart video – forgot to turn off annotations and was very distracted by them – I blame my ADD, or wait its now just ADHD, there’s no more ADD according to those who decided stuff like that.
So far, good short film. I know he wasn’t supposed to directly copy Heath, but he did kind of I guess by accident, though it works in this instance. Only thing is, while makeup is not permitted in a hospital, I’d suspect the Joker would find away to keep his makeup on.
@mattman2900 unfortunately no. apart from the excuse we gave him via harleen giving him makeup, they would force him to wash it off instantly. it would be inconducive to a healthy rehabilitation. we did research on this. trust me.
@blinky500 on the contrary, I’m not questioning your research or the realism as I know they wouldn’t allow the use of make up. What I was point out is the Joker in both Nolan’s world and the Comic books has a knack for creating seemingly ordinary items into stuff less ordinary. Who’s to say the make up the Joker wears is not some twisted permanent creation. Even in the Dark Knight how do we know this is not the case?
In any case your actor did an amazing job.
@mattman2900 well the reason his makeup isnt permanent in TDK is simple- we see him without makeup when he shoots gordon. had it not been for that single scene i would have agreed with you that it could be a permanent tattoo or additional scar. but yeah, since his face is clean in that one scene, plus the makeup smears and is rubbed off in others, im 100% certain its just regular makeup. that being said, i followed protocol and did what i knew they would do to joker- no make up.
@blinky500 Yeah, I was trying to think of a scene where they showed the Joker without the makeup in TDK and I couldn’t think of it. You’re right that pretty much nullifies the permanent scar/tattoo theory.
In your other short (“Joker”) with the Joker and Harley Quinn, I wanted to say yours was the first short I saw where Harley has the accent – from the animated series? I’m sure there are other shorts out there that have the accent for HQ but yours was the first I saw.
@mattman2900 cool. yeah prior to my joker short, there was patient j. that was 2005. and im sure there were like a couple of other incarnations, but i didnt bother to look em up. patient j was the first version i saw.
@mattman2900 meant “your acting was great.” Man I cannot spell today!
Holy…-!
I think I just soiled my pants!
Wow…
We need more AIDS, then.
Little-known fact about Harley Quinn, she made her debut in the Batman: The Animated Series television program in the 90s. She got such a huge response they made her cannon. She’s fan-approved. Period.
@Ilfariun yep. we knew that.
@blinky500 I fully expected you to. Was more directing it to the general populace.
@Ilfariun Throwing in your two cents, Ilfariun?
@JonolanFairchild As always, and quite shocked that you’ve yet to.
I really like the acting and the pacing. Harleen was bloody brilliant and Joker left me very satisfied. I also really the way you progressed the chemistry between the two and handled it in a manner similar to that of the animated series. Great job!
… Wait, Joker wears facepaint? >>;
@SharinganLust what rock have you been hiding under for the last 2 years? this is the heath ledger joker.
I know. But I figured the Heath Ledger joker would at least have some sort of relation to the original. Didn’t the original gain his white face simply by the acid accident? Maybe I’m wrong. Oh well.
@SharinganLust he did but this version has no relation.
Ah. Well, either way, nice interpretation.
@Jokerfan517 she’s comic gold pal. I think she’s actually funnier/ more twisted than Mr. J himself.
nice job!!
I NEED YOU MR J!!!
